Working with Snapshots → About Snapshots
A snapshot is a combination of design and administrative data such as users, groups, projects, and reports. A snapshot can be created from a source environment, or may be provided as part of a solution, such as Serena Service Manager. In either case, the snapshot represents saved design and administrative data as it existed at some point in time. Note that when you promote a snapshot into a target environment, because it is coming from a file, and not a source environment, it may not contain the latest data from the source environment.
The following topics describe how to work with snapshots.
