Setting Web Service Invocation Timeout Period

The Web Service Invocation Timeout setting enables you to designate the amount of time SBM should wait for a Web service to return calls. This setting applies to Web service functions assigned to transitions, states, and notifications. The default setting is 30 seconds.

Note: This setting is also used as the timeout for synchronous orchestrations. The timeout value that you specify controls the amount of time that the system will wait for an synchronous orchestration to complete. If your orchestration is consistently taking longer than sixty seconds to finish, consider changing the orchestration from synchronous to asynchronous instead of increasing the specified timeout.

To set a Web service invocation timeout:

  1. From the Options menu, select Settings or click the Settings icon on the toolbar.
  2. Select the Database tab.
  3. In the Web Service Invocation Timeout setting, specify a time in seconds that SBM should wait for a Web service to return a call.
  4. Click OK.
