Setting a Start of the Week Offset

The Start of Week Offset (Hours) setting enables you to specify which hour is recognized as the beginning of the week. This setting determines results when the following Date/Time keywords are used to provide values and querying Date/Time fields and in notification rules for Date/Time fields: Endof_thisweek, Startof_lastweek, Endof_lastweek, Startof_nextweek, and Endof_nextweek. (These fixed values do not apply to Time of Day, Elapsed Time, or Stopwatch fields.)
Note: When a Date/Time keyword is used on forms, the value is calculated, converted to the proper format, and saved to the database. For example, if a user types Endof_lastweek in a Date/Time field on a form and saves the form, the value for that field displays as specified on the field's Options tab. The value does not change unless manually modified by the user. When Date/Time keywords are used in reports and notification rules, the value is saved and generated at runtime whenever the report is run or the notification rule is evaluated.

To specify a start of the week offset:

  1. From the Options menu, select Settings or click the Settings icon on the toolbar.
  2. Select the Locale tab.
  3. Specify an integer that represents the number of hours after Sunday at 12 a.m. the week should begin. The default value is zero, which sets the week to begin on Sunday at 12 a.m. Each subsequent integer sets the beginning of the week ahead another hour. For example, to set the week to begin Monday at 8 a.m., enter 32. This sets the week to begin 32 hours after Sunday at 12 a.m. Subsequently, the week ends on Monday at 7:59 a.m.
  4. Click OK.
