Setting User-type Dependent Selections for Auxiliary Tables

Field selections for dependent User, Multi-User, or Multi-Group fields are established in the independent User and Single Selection fields in auxiliary tables.

Prerequisites:

You must define the relationship between the independent and dependent fields before you can set dependent field selections for independent and dependent user-type fields. This relationship is defined for primary or auxiliary tables in SBM Composer. In addition, the user-type fields used for the dependency must contain user, group, or role selections. For details on establishing these selections, refer to Adding Selections for User-type Fields for Auxiliary Tables.

To establish user-type dependencies for auxiliary tables:

  1. In SBM System Administrator, select the Tables tab.
  2. Select the auxiliary table for which you want to set dependent selections, and then click Edit.
  3. Select the Fields tab, select the independent User or Single Selection field, and then click Edit.
  4. Select the Dependencies tab.
  5. Select the Override check box, and then clear the check boxes for the selections that should not be available for the selection you are configuring.
  6. Optionally, select a default value from the Default Value drop-down list.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Repeat steps 5-8 for each independent field selection.
  9. Click OK on each field and table dialog box to save your changes.
