Opening Exported Excel Reports in a Separate Window

To set Internet Explorer to open exported Excel reports in a separate window:

  1. On your Windows workstation machine, open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).
  2. From the Tools menu, select Folder Options. The Folder Options dialog box opens.
  3. Select the File Types tab.
  4. From the Registered File Types list, select the Microsoft Excel (XLSX) file type, and then click Advanced.
  5. The Edit File Type dialog box opens. Clear the Browse in Same Window check box, and then click OK.
  6. On the Folder Options dialog, click OK.
