Working with Process Apps → The Process Apps Tab → Profiles → Working with Promotion Profiles
The following topics describe the tasks that you can perform with promotion profiles.
Create a promotion profile when you want to promote a process app more than once using the same promotion settings. A promotion profile gathers the settings that you want to use and saves them.
To create a promotion profile:
Select this check box to include data such as projects, notifications, and reports and more as part of the promotion. You can manage selections for application-specific entities in the tabs that appear on the Entities page. For more information about configuration entities and their promotion options, see About Configuration Entities.
Select or clear this check box to manage conflicts between entities. If you are promoting process apps included with a solution, such as Serena Service Manager, select the Merge conflicts check box to ensure that specific entities, such as roles and roles assignments, are automatically merged if they exist in the target environment but not in the process app you are promoting. If the Merge conflicts check box is cleared, some entities are deleted from the target environment when the process app is promoted. For more information, see Merging Conflicts.
In the Summary section, click the Source Environment, Destination Environment, Entities or Mappings values to make changes before you create the promotion profile.
Before starting the promotion, confirm that each endpoint URI can be accessed.
End the promotion if an error occurs or if there is a warning.
Send e-mail to the addresses that you specify with the status of the promotion under the conditions you choose.
Delete a promotion profile when you no longer need to use the profile.
To delete a promotion profile:
You can change the configuration entities that you want to promote, the mappings for endpoints, and other settings in a promotion profile.
To update a promotion profile:
You can promote a process app or snapshot using a promotion profile from the Profiles sub-tab or by selecting a profile in the Using profile drop-down list that appears in the promote dialog box.
To promote using a promotion profile from the Profiles sub-tab:
