About this Release

Welcome to Serena ChangeMan ZMF Connector 6.1.1.

ChangeMan ZMF Connector is a flexible set of services and programs that can be used from Windows or UNIX/Linux platforms to deploy to z/OS through Serena ChangeMan ZMF.

  • ChangeMan ZMF integration with Serena Release Control 6.0.1 and above is implemented through the Release Control ChangeMan ZMF plugin and ZMF Connector.
Note: There are additional ways to integrate Serena products with ChangeMan ZMF using ZMF Connector. For help with custom integrations, contact Serena Services.

Upgrades

Upgrading from ZMF Connector 6.0 or 6.1

To upgrade from ZMF Connector 6.0 or 6.1 to ZMF Connector 6.1.1, do the following:

  1. Download the ZMF Connector 6.1.1 bundle from the ChangeMan ZMF download page on http://www.serena.com/support.
  2. Install and configure the 6.1.1 services by following the instructions in Serena ChangeMan ZMF Connector Configuration Guide, "Installing and Configuring the ZMF Connector Services".

    The mainframe portion of the configuration should stay the same as it was for your ZMF Connector 6.0 or 6.1 installation.

  3. Use one of the following procedures based on the version of RLC and ZMF Connector from which you are upgrading.
  • If you are using Release Control 6.1 with ZMF Connector 6.1 and want to upgrade to ZMF Connector 6.1.1, you will need to replace the Release Control ZMF plugin client jar file as follows:
    1. In SBM Configurator, stop the SBM Tomcat service.
    2. Navigate to the ..\Serena\SBM\Common\Tomcat 7.0\server\default\webapps\rlc\web-inf\lib folder.
    3. Back up rlc-client-zmf-6.1.0.0-2.0.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.1.0.0-2.0.jar.
    4. Remove rlc-client-zmf-6.1.0.0-2.0.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.1.0.0-2.0.jar.
    5. Download RLC_ChangeManZMF_2.1.zip from the Release Control plugins download page on http://www.serena.com/support.
    6. Extract and copy rlc-client-zmf-2.1.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-2.1.jar to the ..\Serena\SBM\Common\Tomcat 7.0\server\default\webapps\rlc\web-inf\lib folder.
    7. In SBM Configurator, start the SBM Tomcat service.
  • If you are using Release Control 6.1 with ZMF Connector 6.0 and want to upgrade to ZMF Connector 6.1.1, you will need to replace the Release Control ZMF plugin client jar file as follows:
    1. In SBM Configurator, stop the SBM Tomcat service.
    2. Navigate to the ..\Serena\SBM\Common\Tomcat 7.0\server\default\webapps\rlc\web-inf\lib folder.
    3. Back up rlc-client-zmf-6.1.0.0-1.0.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.1.0.0-1.0.jar.
    4. Remove rlc-client-zmf-6.1.0.0-1.0.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.1.0.0-1.0.jar.
    5. Download RLC_ChangeManZMF_2.1.zip from the Release Control plugins download page on http://www.serena.com/support.
    6. Extract and copy rlc-client-zmf-2.1.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-2.1.jar to the ..\Serena\SBM\Common\Tomcat 7.0\server\default\webapps\rlc\web-inf\lib folder.
    7. In SBM Configurator, start the SBM Tomcat service.
  • If you are using Release Control 6.0.1 with ZMF Connector 6.0 and want to upgrade to ZMF Connector 6.1.1, you will need to replace the Release Control ZMF plugin jar files as follows:
    1. In SBM Configurator, stop the SBM JBoss service.
    2. Navigate to the ..\Serena\SBM\Common\jboss405\server\default\deploy\rlc.war\WEB-INF\lib folder.
    3. Back up rlc-client-zmf-6.0.1.0-snapshot.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.0.1.0-snapshot.jar.
    4. Remove rlc-client-zmf-6.0.1.0-snapshot.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-6.0.1.0-snapshot.jar.
    5. Download RLC_ChangeManZMF_2.1.zip from the Release Control plugins download page on http://www.serena.com/support.
    6. Extract and copy rlc-client-zmf-2.1.jar and rlc-provider-zmf-2.1.jar into the..\Serena\SBM\Common\jboss405\server\default\deploy\rlc.war\WEB-INF\lib folder.
    7. In SBM Configurator, start the SBM JBoss service.
CAUTION:
After you replace the plugin client jar file, Release Control will not be able to communicate with ZMF Connector 6.0. If you want to return to using ZMF Connector 6.0, you must revert the Release Control plugin client jar file to the version included in your version of Release Control, which you backed up as part of the above procedure.

Upgrading from Earlier Versions

For assistance with upgrading to ZMF Connector 6.1.1 from a version earlier than ZMF Connector 6.0, contact Serena Support.

Known Issues

Issues known to exist at the time of release are as follows:

  • Audit requests do not show as completed if the audit return code is 20. (DEF275298).

    If you execute a change package audit request, and the ChangeMan ZMF started task is somehow terminated during the execution, the audit return code returned to ZMF Connector is 20. In this situation, the audit task may not show as completed in the integrating product, even if it is ultimately completed successfully in ChangeMan ZMF.
