Copying Deployment Tasks

You can copy deployment tasks to release packages, deployable release trains, and task templates.

You can copy as follows:

Note: Failure tasks are copied separately from deployment tasks. See Copying Failure Tasks.

To copy deployment tasks:

  1. In the Deployment Tasks tab, click Edit Deployment Tasks.
  2. Select Deployment Tasks in the selection field (default).
  3. Click the copy tasks button (image).
  4. Select the type of copy from the list and select the copy criteria as prompted.
Note: Task templates are not available to copy until they are approved.

After selecting an item to copy from, you will see the quantity of tasks to be copied.

After you have copied the tasks to a deployable release train or release package, you can select the deployment units as needed.

Copying Tasks from a Task Template

When you copy deployment tasks to a release package from a task template, you can select multiple environments, and tasks will be created for each of those environments. Deployment tasks in task templates do not retain the deployment unit information, since that is specific to an environment.

Copying Tasks from a Release Package

When you copy deployment tasks from a release package, only the primary tasks for that release package are copied; the tasks from any child and parent packages are not copied.

Copying Tasks from a Release Train

When you copy deployment tasks from a release train, only the primary tasks for that release train are copied; the tasks from any child and parent packages are not copied.

Cloning Tasks

To clone deployment or failure tasks within a release package, deployable release train, or task template:

  1. In the Deployment Tasks tab, click Edit Deployment Task and select the task you want to clone.
  2. Beside the task name, click the Clone option (image).
