Overview

The Release Control installation requires that you have a complete and functional Serena Business Manager installation first. You must follow the steps in the SBM Installation and Configuration Guide to install SBM before you install Release Control.

You will run the Release Control installer on one or more SBM servers, depending on how you performed the SBM installation.

The installation process depends on a variety of factors, such as the location of the SBM components that you have installed. For example, you must install all of the SBM components to have a working installation; however, you could install two components, such as SBM Application Engine and Application Repository, on different servers. Therefore, you must install Release Control on both servers (in addition to the server that hosts SBM Common Services).
