Configuring Release Control Authentication

If you plan to use any of the Serena plugins with Release Control, such as those provided with the default implementation, it is recommended that you set Single Sign-On (SSO). This will improve the user experience by not requiring additional logins when the integrating products are accessed. If you do not already have this set for SBM, you should enable Single Sign-On (SSO) now.

This setting is optional, so if you're not sure, you can continue with Configuring Release Control and change the authentication later as needed.

To enable Single Sign-On (SSO):

  1. In SBM Configurator, open the Authentication tab.
  2. Select one of the following authentication options in the Validate user credentials against drop-down list:
    • Internal SBM Database
    • LDAP
    • LDAP then Internal
    • SSO LDAP
    • SSO LDAP then Internal
    • Windows Domain (NTCR)
  3. Select Single Sign-On in the User sessions are managed by drop-down list.
  4. Configure the other applicable sub-tabs depending on which authentication option that you selected. For details, refer to "Configuring Authentication" in the SBM Installation and Configuration Guide.

Release Control is now properly configured to use Single Sign-On (SSO).

Continue with Configuring Release Control.
