Associating ServiceNow Items with Requests

After a ServiceNow Item configuration has been added or updated as needed, you can associate ServiceNow items with Release Control requests.

To associate ServiceNow items with requests:

  1. In a deployable release train or release package, select the Requests tab.
  2. Click Edit Requests.
  3. Click the + icon to add a request.
  4. Select a ServiceNow Item configuration.
  5. Select Search for items.
  6. Enter search criteria and then click Find Items to find and select the ServiceNow items to associate with the request.
Tip: If you have a lot of fields defined for your search filters, you may need to scroll down to see the returned search results.

The fields that are displayed are described in the following table.

Field Description Example Values
Text Use this field to search for ServiceNow items by full or partial text.

If you select Field Search in Fields for a more refined search, this field is ignored.

Choice Select one or more item statuses for which you want to search. For example:
  • Review
  • Closed
  • Canceled

If you select Field Search in Fields for a more refined search, this field is ignored.

Fields Select Field Search to see more filters that you can use to narrow the search results. These depend on the fields in your ServiceNow system.
