Creating ALM Octane Tasks

After ALM Octane Work Item Actions configurations have been added or updated, you can create Octane tasks for a configuration.

To create an Octane task:

  1. In a deployable release train or release package, select the Deployment Tasks tab.
  2. Click Edit Deployment Tasks.
  3. Click the + icon to add a deployment task.
  4. Select an Octane Work Item Actions configuration.
  5. Enter a title and description for the task.
  6. Complete the fields in the form, see the following table:

Entity Type Select an ALM Octane entity type. Feature
Work Item Find or create a work item to relate to the deployment task. Click Click to map and select one of the following:
  • Select item(s) to find available items. Select an item and click Save.
  • Octane work item to search for Octane work items from the configuration or create a new item:
    • Searching for items: select an Entity Type. For each type different options are displayed. Optionally select an entry from each list and click Find Items. Select an item and click Add.
    • Creating a new work item: select an Entity Type. For each type different options are displayed. Complete the fields and click Create & Add.
Environments Enable one or more environments.

For each environment enter the names of required fields and set scheduling options.
