Creating ALM Tasks

After you have added or updated ALM Defect Actions configurations, you can create ALM tasks.

To create a new ALM task:

  1. In a deployable release train or release package, select the Deployment Tasks tab.
  2. Click Edit Deployment Tasks.
  3. Click the + icon to add a deployment task.
  4. Select an ALM Defect Actions configuration.
  5. Enter a title and description for the task.
  6. Complete the fields in the form (see the table below).
  7. Click Save.
Field Description Example Values
Project Select an ALM Project ALM_PROJECT
Defect ID Find or create a defect to relate to the deployment task. Click Click to map and select one of the following options:

Use available item(s)

Select an item from the Items Related to Task list and click Save.

Use available configurations

Select an ALM configuration and do one of the following.

To search for defects:

  1. Select Search for Items.
  2. Select a project.
  3. (Optional) Select or enter search criteria.
  4. Click Find Items.
  5. Select an item and click Add.
To create a new ALM defect:
  1. Select Create Item.
  2. Select a project.
  3. Select an option from each field. Mandatory fields are displayed in red.
  4. Click Create & Add.
Environment Displays all available environments. You can expand and collapse the fields for each environment. To show the defect fields for all environments select Enable all.
Fields For each environment, select ALM Defect fields to update. Actual Fix Time, Description
Environments For each defect field, select or enter a value. Browser: Internet Explorer

Schedule Options Select a scheduling option for the defect. Delay: 10 hours
