Creating Snapshots

While adding a Deployment Automation snapshot in the deployment unit collection or as part of a deployment task, if a snapshot you want does not yet exist, you can create one.

To do so, select the Create Item option.

To create a snapshot, use one of the following.

  1. Beside the Snapshot field, click the link icon.
  2. Under Use available configurations, select a Snapshot Item configuration.
  3. Select Create Item.
  4. Fill out the resulting fields.

The fields that are displayed are described in the following table.

Snapshot Name Enter a name for the snapshot to be created, with a maximum of 60 characters
Snapshot Description Enter a description for the snapshot to be created, with a maximum of 60 characters
