Dimensions CM Plugin Configuration Overview

The Dimensions CM plugin includes provider types to be used for requests and release baselines.

Before you can use the Dimensions CM plugin, administrators must do the following:

Install and add the plugin. See Preparing the Plugins.
Add one or more configurations of the plugin. See Adding Plugin Configurations and the configuration details topic for the configuration you plan to use.
Configure custom column fields to display appropriate data. See Fields for Dimensions CM.
Configure ALF Settings.

Configurations are included for the following:

Dimensions CM Baseline Item is used when adding deployment units and it allows you to link release baselines to your deployable release trains and release packages.
Important: Only release baselines can be associated with deployment units by default. Archived and design baselines cannot be selected as deployment units.
Dimensions CM Baseline Actions is used when creating deployment tasks or task templates. You can choose to deploy, promote, or demote release baselines through the Dimensions CM GSL stages.
Dimensions CM Request Item is used when adding Dimensions CM requests as deployment units.
Dimensions CM Request Actions is used when creating deployment tasks or task templates. You can choose to deploy, promote, or demote requests through the Dimensions CM GSL stages.

When associating baselines and requests, you have to option to create them.
