You can create a topic steam that is only visible to you by shelving the changes you have made in a local work area. To speed up the operation, you can limit the scope to folders that contain your changes instead of shelving the entire stream.
Desktop client
Open the stream and from the Stream menu select Shelve.
Web client
Open a stream. On the side panel select Folders and Items. On the toolbar select Shelve.
Windows Explorer
Right-click the root folder of the stream, or a subfolder, and select Dimensions | Shelve.
The Shelve wizard opens.
Enter a name for the topic stream, a unique branch name, and a description.
Select options to be applied after the shelving operation completes:
Reset the work area to the latest content of the stream in the repository.
Rehome the work area and associate it with the topic stream.
(Desktop client only) Specify a different work area for the topic stream.
(Desktop client only) Add the topic stream to your list of favorite streams.
Click Next.
The Shelve wizard displays:
The path of the work area you are shelving from. You can select a different work area.
The name of the topic stream where your changes will be shelved to.
The next sections of the Shelve wizard are the same as delivering changes to CM, see Delivering Changes to a Stream.
When you have competed the wizard, click Shelve.
If you have opted to reset the work area click Reset. The Update wizard opens. The stream to be used for the update is the same one that is associated with the work area. In the Advanced section the following options are selected by default:
Reset work area changes to repository versions and paths.
Delete locally added files (such as files added by a local build process).
To reset the work area complete the Update wizard, for details see Updating a Work Area from a Stream.
