New Request/Open Request Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to create a new request, modify its attributes, add or delete file attachments, and view a request's relationships, action history, or browse template.

Use the General tab to edit or view the title, description, affected design parts, attachments, and status of the request.

See Relationships Tab for how to view, unrelate, or perform actions on item revisions, requests, baselines, or design parts that are related to the current request.

See Action History Tab for how to view the action history of the selected request.

See Refactoring History Tab for how to view the refactoring history of the selected request.

Use the Preview Tab to view the contents of the selected request.

NOTE  You can save a request as draft without having to complete all the mandatory fields. If you click the Submit as Draft button the request is added to your draft list even if there are mandatory fields that have not been entered.

Description

Rules and Guidelines

Title

Edit or accept the title for the request.

The maximum length is 80 characters.

Description

Edit or accept the description for the request.

 

Affected design part(s)

Type, or accept, a design part specification that is affected by this request, or click the Browse button: browse_button.gif to open the Select Design Part wizard.

If any part of the design part specification contains spaces, the whole ID must be contained within quotes ("").

To be addressed in project

Type the name of the project that will own the request, or click the Browse button to find it.

The request is related to the project as Owned.

Related baselines

Type the name of one or more baselines, or click the Browse button to find them.

The baseline is related to the request(s) as Affected.

Related requirements

Type the name of one or more requirements to be related to this request, or click the Browse button to find them.

The baseline is related to the request(s) as Affected.

File attachments

Add or remove file attachments.

Click to insert a row below the current row.

 

(remove row)

Click to remove the current row.

 

File name

Type the name of a file attachment, or click the Browse button to select one.

 

Description

Type a description of the file attachment.

 

Size

The size of the file attachment.

This field displays N/A until a file has been attached.

Status

The current lifecycle state of the request.

 

Submit

Click to save the request.

 

Submit as Draft

Click to submit your changes and save the request as draft. This means that the request will not be visible to other users.
