New Request Wizard

The New Request wizard can be invoked to create a request from scratch or to prime a request with information from an existing request. For more information on creating requests, see Creating a New Request.

Field	Description
Page 1: Basic Request Information
Raise request against list	Select the product for which the new request is to be created.
of type list	Select the type of request to be created.
Title	Enter a title for the request.
From file option	Enter the name of the file that contains a description of the request, or click the Browse button to browse for the file.
Text option	Enter a description of the request.
Next button	Click to advance to the next page of the wizard.
Page 2: Base Request On
Base request on check box	To base the new request on an existing request, select this check box. NOTE If you started the wizard by priming it from an existing request, these fields will be pre-populated.
Base request on list	Select a request to base the new request on.
Relate as list	Select a relationship type to set a relationship between the new request and the request on which it is based.
Next button	Click to advance to the next page of the wizard.
Page 3: Request Attributes
Role Section list	Select an appropriate role.
Attributes table	Type or select values as needed. Attributes in bold are required; attributes in italics cannot be modified. NOTE If you started the wizard by priming it from an existing request, these fields will be pre-populated.
Next button	Click to advance to the next page of the wizard.
Page 4: Related Objects
Related stream/project	Do one of the following: Start typing the ID. Streams and projects that contain any characters in the string are displayed. For example, to find ’QLARIUS:VS_BRANCHA’ type ’vs’. Select a stream or project from the list. Favorites and recently used streams and projects are displayed at the top.
Related design parts	Enter the design part specification(s) that the request affects, or click the browse button, select the desired parts from the resulting dialog box, and click the Save selections button. If this field is left blank, the root part for the product will be used.
Related baselines	Enter the baseline(s) that the request affects, or click the browse button, select the desired baselines from the resulting dialog box, and click the Save selections button.
Related items	Enter the item specification(s) that the request affects, or click the browse button, select the desired items from the resulting dialog box, and click the Save selections button.
Relate as list	To create a relationship between the request and the item(s), select one.
Related requests	Enter other request(s) that the new request affects, or click the browse button, select the desired requests from the resulting dialog box, and click the Save selections button.
Relate as list	To create a relationship between the new request and the affected request(s), select one.
Next button	Click to advance to the next page of the wizard.
Page 5: Request Attachments
Add button	Click to add an attachment to the request. The New Attachment dialog box appears.
Remove button	Click to remove the selected attachment from the list to be added to the new request.
Attachment table	Review attachments to be added. Select attachments to be removed.
Next button	Click to advance to the next page of the wizard.
Page 6: Summary
Summary	Review the summary of the operations that will be performed when you create the request.
Back button	Click to revise a selection on a previous page of the wizard.
Finish button	Click to complete the wizard.
