Target Page (from Create New Target from Template Wizard)

The Target page of the Create New Target from Template Wizard allows you to specify the properties of the new target.

Rules and Guidelines

Name

Enter a name for the target.

 

File

Enter the filename for the target.

Must be an actual filename, not a description.

Relative Path

Enter the path to the target, relative to the build area root directory.

 

Description

Enter a description for the target.

 

Is Virtual

Select this check box if the target is a virtual target.

A virtual target is a target that does not correspond to a specific file; for example, "Clean" or "All".

Is Final

Select this check box if the target is not an intermediate target.

A final target is a target that will not be used as the input to a subsequent build operation.

Design Part

Specifies a design part to be related to the target. Enter a design part name, or click the Browse button and select a design part from the tree.

 

Select Application Rule Template

Select an application rule template from the list.

Application Rule Templates define a group of transition rule templates that are used to create an application.

Transition Rule Templates describe a generic rule for building an item and applying it to specific source items at a later time.

You must previously have created one or more transition rule templates and application rule templates.
