New/Edit Valid Set Dialog Box

The New/Edit Valid Set dialog box allows you to define or modify a valid set that can be assigned to one or more attributes.

General Tab

Valid Set Name

The name of the new valid set. This value must be unique within the base database.

  • Required.

  • Up to 25 characters.

  • You cannot change this field when editing a valid set.

No. of Cols

The number of columns that will comprise the valid set. To create a simple list of valid values, enter a value of 1.

  • Required.

  • Value must be between 1 and 8.

Description

Text that explains the intended use of the valid set.

  • Optional.

  • Up to 240 characters.

Error Message

Text to be displayed if a user enters a value that is not included in the valid set.

  • Optional.

  • Up to 240 characters.

NOTE  On the Values tab, you can enter up to 2000 characters for Oracle and 1000 characters for DB2.
