New/Edit Valid Relationship Dialog Box for Items

The New/Edit Valid Relationship dialog box enables you to create a new valid relationship between two item types in the base database or edit the details of an existing one.

Field	Description	Rules and Guidelines
Parent Item Type	The product to which the parent item type belongs and the parent item type.	Choose a product from the list on the left. Choose an item type from the list on the right. Display only for Edit Valid Relationship.
Relationship	The name of the relationship.	Choose a relationship name from the list. Display only for Edit Valid Relationship.
Child Item Type	The product to which the child item type belongs and the child item type.	Choose a product from the list on the left. Choose an item type from the list on the right. Display only for Edit Valid Relationship.
Inherit relationships to parents when creating a new revision of child	A check box that indicates whether a new revision of the child item will inherit all the parent relationships associated with the base revision it is being created from.	Check to select this option.
Inherit relationships to children when creating a new revision of parent	A check box that indicates whether a new revision of the parent item will inherit all the child relationships associated with the base revision it is being created from.	Check to select this option.
