Edit CM Rules Dialog Box

The Edit CM Rules dialog box enables you to specify rules about related items and requests when performing certain actions. For requests, you can map lifecycle states to phases. You can also enable or disable the complete set of CM rules within this dialog box.

Enable CM Rules

Whether CM Rules are enabled for this item type.

Choose Yes to activate the CM Rules.

Require Request for new Item

If this option is set, a new Item of this type can be created only when in response to a valid request.

Choose Yes to set this option.

Require Request when check out at or beyond this state

The first lifecycle state at which a request is mandatory for checking out a new revision of the item.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Require Request when action at or beyond this state

The first lifecycle state at which a request is mandatory for the item to progress by way of actioning.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Require that item must be at or beyond this state before permit closing of associated request

The minimum state an Item must reach before requests related to it as IN RESPONSE TO can close.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Analysis Phase starts with State

The first lifecycle state in the Analysis phase.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Work Phase starts with State

The first lifecycle state in the Work phase.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Frozen Phase starts with State

The first lifecycle state in the Frozen phase.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Minimum State of Child before permit Parent to close

 The minimum state at which this request must be before any parent request may be closed.

Choose a lifecycle state from the list.

Allow request to be closed with affected item revisions

If you select this option, requests can be closed/actioned to a frozen phase without having an in-response-to item relationship.

Default is No.
