New/Edit Selection Criterion Dialog Box

The New/Edit Selection Criterion dialog box allows you to specify or edit the selection criterion for an area filter. You can specify a filename pattern, a data format, or an item type, or a combination of these.

For Area Filter

The name of the area filter

  • Display only.

Rule Type

Whether this is an exclusion or inclusion.

  • Display only.

File Path Pattern Match

Identifies the file path pattern of the item files to which the rule applies. See About File Pattern Matching for more details.

  • Optional.

  • Use the forward slash (/) to separate directories.

  • '*' matches zero or more characters

  • '?' matches one character.

Design Part

Identifies the owning design part to be used as a selection criterion for the items.

  • Optional.

  • Enter the design part ID or click the browse button: browsebutton00057.gif and complete the Select Design Part wizard to find it.

Recurse Part Structure

Specifies whether to include the child design parts of the Design Part specified above.

  • Optional.

Data Format

Identifies a data format, which includes the MIME type and file class (ASCII/Binary) to be used as a selection criterion.

  • Optional.

  • Choose from the list of data formats defined in the base database.

Item Type

Specifies the item type to be used as a selection criterion.

  • Optional.

  • Choose from the list of item types defined in the base database.
