New/Edit Base Database Dialog Box

The New/Edit Base Database dialog box enables you to assign a base database to the current node, or edit the details of a currently assigned base database.

Field	Description	Rules and Guidelines
Base Database Name	Name of the base database.	Required. Up to 25 characters. Displayed only when editing a base database.
Description	Description of the base database.	Optional. Up to 240 characters.
DB Connection	The network instance for the database. Select an existing instance or create a new one by entering a string in the field. For example: DIM10 NOTE: To change this value for an existing base database association, you must unassign the base database and then create a new base database association.	Required. Up to 240 characters. Displayed only when editing a base database.
Dimensions Release Version	Version number of the Dimensions CM release. For example: 10.1	Required. Up to 20 characters.
Replication Enabled	Enables or disables replication for this database.	Optional.
Contact	Name of the contact for the base database.	Optional.
Dimensions Root Directory	Directory where Dimensions CM was installed. For example: C:\Program Files\Serena\ Dimensions 10.1\CM	Optional. Up to 1024 characters. Used for informational purposes only.
Site No	A number that uniquely identifies the base database on your network. This is used to generate unique sequence numbers for requests.	Optional. Needs to be unique. When used for replications, make sure this number is consistent across all replication sites.
