Display the Create New Component Template dialog Components > Templates > Create New Template [button].
Enter the template's name in the Name field.
Enter a description in the Description field.
The optional description can be used to convey additional information about the template.
Select a plug-in from the Status Plug-in field.
If you previously created any status-related plug-ins, they will be listed here. The default value is Default, meaning that the template will have Serena Release Automation-supplied steps available for use.
Select the source for the artifacts from the Source Config Type drop-down list.
Selecting a value other than the default None, displays additional fields associated with your selection. Source-dependent fields are used to identify and configure the artifacts. If you select a source, components based on the template will use the same source (see Component Source Configuration).
NOTE
If you select a source, any properties you configure will be set for any components created with the template.
Click the Save button to save the template.
Saved templates are listed in the Component Templates pane.
You create a process for the template in the same way processes are created for components. For information about creating component processes, see Component Processes.
