Features
New Features of Release 3.3.3
New features of Serena Release Automation 3.3.3 include the following:
- Added support for namespace attributes in the XPath actions.
- Enhanced WLS actions pack with support for WLS 10.34 and 10.35.
- Uses self-certificate to enable working with your own certification and authentication keys.
- Improved user interface initialization time.
- Improved silent installation to enable update of non-default Tomcat ports.
- Get Windows Server Properties and Modify Windows Service Properties actions are now executed using Run as User functionality.
- Improved process publishing time.
- Improved locking to allow login and design during publish time in systems that use SQL Server as the database.
- Updated certification message to while connecting to user interface over HTTPS.
- Fixed the For Each loop so that it no longer causes items to be ignored or duplicated.
- Fixed the user interface so that intermittent issues do not occur when executing several processes simultaneously.
- Fixed XPath actions so that they no longer occasionally change the encoding format of the manipulated file.

Software Compatibility Requirements
The following platforms are supported by this release:
- Windows 2003 R2 and higher
- Linux RH Enterprise Linux 5.2, Fedora, SUSE, CentOS, Ubuntu and Oracle Enterprise Linux.
On Linux: Kernel 2.6 and higher is required.
- Solaris 10 SPARC
- Solaris 10 x86

Installation Considerations
You should plan your installation and configuration according to the detailed documentation provided with the product.
On Windows platforms, you must have Administrator privileges to install Serena Release Automation.
To install Serena Release Automation:
- Extract the archive for your platform into a suitable location.
Please ensure that the file structure created matches the file structure for your platform as follows:

System Requirements
The system requirements for successful installation and execution of Serena Release Automation depend on your organization's usage requirements.
For more details, see the Serena Release Automation Installation and Configuration Guide.
Minimum system requirements are as follows:
Memory:
- Data Management - At least 1 GB RAM
- Execution Server - At least 512MB RAM
Available Disk Space:
- Data Management - At least 1 GB
- Execution Server - At least 300MB
Database:
- MySQL 5.1.30 or higher with InnoDB storage engine enabled.
- Oracle 10g or higher
- MS SQL Server 2005 or higher with either Windows or SQL Authentication
Upgrading
- ASAP customers running the 3.2.x release (3.2 / 3.2.1 / 3.2.2) can perform a direct upgrade to the latest release using an easy to use upgrade installer. Upgrade must include all Nolio components (Datamanagement, Execution Servers and Nolio Agents).
- ASAP customers running the beta version of 3.3 (any 3.3 release that was made before 3.3.1.237) must perform a full upgrade to all Nolio components.
- ASAP customers running an earlier 3.3 release (3.3.1.237) can perform an upgrade that will include only Server components (Datamanagement and Execution Servers). No agent upgrade is required.
Known Issues
Solutions are available for known issues in the Serena Customer Support Knowledgebase. These solutions provide details about the issue and list associated fixes as they become available. Generally available fixes can be downloaded from the solution page online.
Issues known to exist in Serena Release Automation 3.3.3 are as follows:
- You cannot run the Serena Release Automation installer in silent mode.
- The installer cannot connect to a pre-existing database name in Oracle (DEF217099).
