This Readme file contains information you should know before you install or use Serena® Release Control 3.1. It also contains late-breaking documentation corrections and additions made since the release of Serena Release Control 3.0 that could not be included in the published documentation.
Serena® Serena Release Control(Powered by Serena Business Manager) enables you to plan, control, and automate all your application releases from definition to deployment into production with start-to-finish traceability and end-to-end visibility across both mainframe and distributed environments.
Serena Release Control is part of Serena Release Manager 1.1, an integrated suite release for Serena Release Control, Serena Release Vault, and Serena Release Automation.
Serena Release Control 3.1 is a feature release for Serena Release Control.
Serena Release Manager 3.0.0.01 was a patch release for Serena Release Control.
Serena Release Manager 3.0 was the initial release of Serena Release Control and a rewritten version of Serena Application Release Manager 2.0.

You can download documentation for any release of the Serena Release Manager suite from the Serena Customer Support website My Downloads page.
Online Support - The Serena Customer Support website at http://support.serena.com provides an easy way for customers to manage their support cases, download software patches, or search our Knowledgebase for the latest technical information about our products at any time. The most recent versions of this Readme and all product documentation may also be downloaded from the Support website. A user ID and password are required to access the Serena Customer Support website. To obtain a user ID and password, sign up online or contact Customer Support by email or telephone.
Telephone Support - Telephone contact numbers for Serena Customer Support are posted by region on the Contacting Serena Technical Support page of the Customer Support website. No password is needed to access Customer Support contact information.
Email Support - Customers can send support requests by email to support@serena.com.
Authorized Support Representative - Some support contracts specify that support calls will be centrally managed within the customer organization. This practice enables related issues to be aggregated across multiple customer sites or functional groups, and it ensures accountability for the satisfactory resolution of open issues. You should determine whether you have such a support contract before contacting Serena Customer Support. If you do have such a contract, submit your support request to the designated support manager within your organization and arrange for that person to contact Serena.

The system requirements for successful installation and execution of Serena Release Control depend on your organization's usage requirements. You should determine your organization’s specific needs using the detailed documentation for SBM with minimal additional requirements for the Serena Release Control process apps.
