Release Train Workflow

Release trains follow this default workflow with Serena Release Manager. This can be tailored as needed to meet the needs of specific organizations.

Release trains include the following states:

  1. Planning: Once the release train has been created, the release engineer plans the release train at a high level, including defining release intervals and creating specific releases that will be related to this release train.

  2. Review: The release train content is reviewed with project stakeholders. When it is approved, it can be transitions to the next state.

  3. In Progress: The release train is actively in use. This may span a great deal of time, depending how many releases are associated with it.

  4. Completed: The release train is no longer active.

  5. Release Failed: Deployment of a particular release failed.
