Adding a skill
Select a resource role and define a rate. The default rate ($s per hour) is defined for each resource role and the rate must include an date with which the rate is to take effect and the rate (in $) per hour. Open the Manage Skills dialog box to work with the list of skills available in your organization. Enter the name of a skill and click Add. If you add a new rate, the rate for the resource will be the new rate starting at the selected date.
- Open the Resources module.
- Select the Resource Roles tab.
- Click New Skill to open the Manage Skills dialog box.
- In the Manage Skills dialog box, add the name of a skill and click Add.
- Click Save.
Deleting a skill
If your organization is not using a skill, you can delete it. Pick a skill from the list of skills and click Delete.
- Open the Resources module.
- Select the Resource Roles tab.
- In the resources tree, right-click and select Manage Skills.
- In the Manage Skills dialog box, under Skill List, select a skill and click Remove.
- Click Save.
Editing a skill
You can modify an existing skill. If you modify an existing rate, the allocation associated with that rate will use the modified rate.
- Open the Resources module.
- Select the Resource Roles tab.
- Open the Manage Skills dialog box. Right-click a resource role in the navigation pane and select Manage Skills; or click Manage Skills in the view pane.
- In the Manage Skills dialog box, select a skill, rename the skill, and then click Update.
- Click Save.
Renaming a skill
Skills can be renamed. Pick a skill from the list of skills, rename it, and then click Update.
- Open the Resources module.
- Select the Resource Roles tab.
- In the resources tree, right-click and select Manage Skills.
- In the Manage Skills dialog box, under Skill List, select a skill, rename it, and then click Update.
- Click Save.
