Adding a dependency type
Dependency types created on the Dependency Types tab will be available for use.
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Customization.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Dependency Types tab.
- Click New.
- Name the dependency and choose an icon to represent this dependency type.
- From the Request View drop-down, select the named summary view in which a new dependency of this type will appear. The default request view is Summary.
- From the Source list, select one or more work item types that can be used as a source for this dependency type.
- From the Target list, select one or more work item types that can be used as a target in this dependency type.
- In the Attributes tab, move the attributes that you want to associate with this dependency type to the right column. Choose Roll Up to Source to roll-up data from the dependency type to the selected source work item types. Choose Roll Up to Target to roll-up data from the dependency type to the selected target work item types.
- In the Source tab, move the attributes that you want to associate with this dependency type to the right column. Data associated with these attributes will be read-only when viewed.
- In the Target tab, move the attributes that you want to associate with this dependency type to the right column. Data associated with these attributes will be read-only when viewed.
- Click Save
Deleting a dependency type
A dependency type can be deleted as long as it is not being used by an existing work item type.
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Customization.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Dependency Types tab.
- Select the dependency type in the list.
- Click Delete.
Editing a dependency type
To modify an dependency type, make the applicable changes, and then click Save Dependency Type.
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Customization.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Dependency Types tab.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save.
