The navigation tree displays a hierarchical view of objects that are associated with the selected module and view. When the navigation pane is displayed, the navigation tree appears atop the list of modules. When the navigation pane is hidden, you can open the navigation tree in a floating dialog by clicking the tree button.
The floating navigation tree can be placed conveniently within interface without needing to pin the entire navigation pane. When you are finished, you can close the navigation tree. The tree appears only for the
Projects,
Reports, and
Resources modules.
- Selecting the Projects module displays a tree view of items (such as programs, projects, and portfolios.) Clicking a plus sign (+) expands the node. Clicking an item displays the selected view for the item in the view pane.
- Selecting the Reports module displays a datasheet tree view. Clicking a plus sign (+) expands the datasheet hierarchy, while clicking a datasheet displays the selected View pane.
- Selecting the Resources module displays a Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS) tree view. Clicking a plus sign (+) expands the resource team. Clicking a resource team displays the resource details in the view pane.
You can access a shortcut menu of tasks and views when you right-click an item in the navigation tree. This feature is available when you right-click on an item, such as an item, resource, or datasheet in the navigation tree while working in the Projects, Reports, Resources, and Tools modules.
