Item Request Pages
Use the IRP tab to create an item request page that allows people to submit an item request page from outside the application. An item request page is assigned a unique URL. An item request page can be used to allow people from outside of your organization (or from outside of the application) to submit information without requiring that user to provide a user name or password in order to submit the item request page. Before creating an item request page, you must create a custom summary view that defines the layout of the item request page.
The
IRP tab contains the following elements:
- Name The name of the item request page.
- Item View A named summary view that will be used with this item request page. The summary view determines the layout of the item request page. You can design custom layouts for an item request page from the View Designer view.
- Item Location The item to which this item request page is associated. Any item request that is created from this item request page will be added as child item to the selected item location.
- Email Address Required Indicates whether a user of an item request page is required to submit their email address along with an item request page.
- Page URL A unique URL for the item request page. This URL is generated automatically. This is the URL from which users can access the item request page.
- Available Item Request Pages This box contains the list of any existing item request page.
Adding an item request page
An item request page is based on a custom summary view; before an item request page can be created, you must first design a custom summary page from which an item request page can be based.
To add an item request page
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Configuration.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Investment Request Pages tab.
- Click New.
- Name the item request page.
- Select the custom summary view to which the item request page is associated. The custom summary view determines the layout of the item request page's Web page. The layout of an item request page is defined on the View Layout tab in the View Designer tab.
- Click the ellipse button next to Investment Location and choose the item type that will be created when the item request page is used to request new item types.
- Select Email Address Required to require individuals who submit an item request to also provide an email address.
- Click Save. The Page URL is generated. This URL is the page from which users of the item request page will submit their requests for a new item.
Deleting an item request page
If you are no longer using an item request page, you can delete it.
To delete an item request page
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Configuration.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Investment Request Pages tab.
- Under Available Investment Request Pages, select an item request page.
- Click Delete.
Editing an item request page
To modify the item request page, make your changes, and click Save Request Page in the Actions box.
To edit an item request page
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Configuration.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Investment Request Pages tab.
- Under Available Investment Request Pages, select an item request page.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save.
Viewing an item request page
Item types are shown on the Investment Type tab in the Types Setup tab.
To view an item request page
- From the application toolbar, click Setup, and then select Configuration.
- Select the Types Setup tab.
- Select the Investment Request Pages tab.
- Select the item request page you want to view from the Available Investment Request Pages list.
