Metadata Tables

Metadata tables contain information about your configuration, such as custom attributes, allowable item types, or the different ways a person can view monetary data. Some metadata tables are fixed with each release, and some change depending on the customer.

When you use the administration module to import data to or export data, you are in fact importing or exporting the metadata that is contained in these tables.
